Join us at this year's festival - 27 Mei to 24 Hune 2025. It’s our way of celebrating Matariki with you — kai, connection, and community. 

Puanga and Matariki is a time to encourage whanaungatanga, share stories and kai. It also marks the beginning of the Māori New Year which traditionally was time to plant trees, prepare the lands for planting crops and more importantly renew links with whānau and friends.

The Puanga Matariki Festival is a special celebration with a series of cultural events happening within the Whangārei District for people to come and celebrate together.
